Invasive Removal
For the past two years MPC has cleared right-of-ways in Stamford, New Canaan, Fairfield and Westport of vines and invasive plants, with funding from members and Paul Newman and his foundation. MPC works with Bartlett Tree Experts to save trees, restore the landscape and re-create some of the originally intended vistas.

This past fall MPC hosted a workshop for directors and managers of open spaces who wage similar battles with invasive plants and tree-strangling vines in large open spaces. Our findings and collective experiences are available to other organizations in an illustrated report, "Best Practices For Large Tract Land Stewards." Let us know if you are a member of another non-profit organization with the same challenges and we will send our "lessons learned", at no charge.
